Great Food for People in Great Need
We raise organic produce, grassfed beef, and pastured eggs and poultry, and give it all away to Philadelphia-area soup kitchens and food pantries.
Our most recent annual donated harvests:
Each year, our farm donates 100% of harvests. Our most recent annual totals:
Our farm grows more than 18 acres of diverse organic vegetables, providing delicious, nutritious year-round harvests. Our wide variety of produce includes spectacular fresh greens from kale to arugula and salad mix; daily staples like carrots, onions and garlic; culturally appropriate favorites from napa cabbage to collards and sweet potatoes; and essential flavor boosters like fresh garlic, ginger, turmeric, chile peppers and culinary herbs.
In the last year—even as egg prices broke records—we donated half a million organic eggs, all laid by our flock of over two thousand pastured hens. Whether scrambled or baked by soup kitchens or taken home from food pantries, eggs offer essential nutrition and are one of the items in greatest demand from the non-profits we serve.
We raise herds of cattle and flocks of turkeys and chickens, all on fresh pasture and certified organic. We process all poultry on-site in our own gleaming facility. People tell us it is some of the finest meat they have ever eaten, and we give it all away.
Each year our greenhouses fill up not only with seedlings for our own fields, but also with tens of thousands of organic plant starts that we custom-grow for fellow non-profits and mission-driven urban farms. From okra and watermelon to tomatillos and chile peppers, our donated, transplanted seedlings grow up to feed local communities in need.
We haven’t only grown our farm. Each year, we’ve also grown the number of partners we support. We now donate to over a dozen Philadelphia-area non-profits, including soup kitchens, food pantries, hospitals, homeless shelters, and urban farms.
Who We Support
We support jobs-training programs that provide an empowering pathway out of poverty, welcoming cohorts from Cathedral Kitchen and Phildabundance for curriculum-centered, hands-on farm experiences that take their training to the next level.
We engage hundreds of local volunteers each year, raising awareness, inspiring the next generation and providing an opportunity to give back through direct service.
We welcome volunteers! Meet us at the farm to pick carrots, weed sweet potatoes, wash eggs, pop garlic and load the delivery truck. With your help, we can grow even more food to give away. Join us!
